Government E-Marketplace (GeM) is a portal to facilitate online procurement of goods and services required by Central Government Departments, State Government Department, Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) and Autonomous Bodies in India.
Government has decided that DGS&D will create a one stop Government eMarketplace (GeM) to facilitate online procurement of common use of Goods & Services required by various Government Departments / Organizations / PSUs.This Government online procurement portal, promoted as GeM – Government eMarketplace will enhance the transparency, efficiency and speed in Government procurement. The procurement through GeM by Government users have been also authorized by Ministry of Finance by adding a new Rule No. 141-A in the General Financial Rules, 2005.
